Product Description
Intex 2,500-Gallon Filter Pump (Intex 56633E) features a 120 volt AC pump with safety certifications and listings by UL and CSA. It is recommended for Intex 24′ Easy Set, Frame Set pools, Ellipse Oval pools, Rectangular Frame pools and similar sized pools from other manufacturers. Hosing is 1.5″ ID, inside diameter. Hardware stores will carry plumbing adapters that will allow you to use this pump with pools that have hook-ups with a larger or smaller inside diameter. Installation is very easy – just hook-up the hoses and plug the pump into a 110 to 120 volt outlet. The pump is double insulated for safety and long life. Pump features an air release valve for air trapped inside the filter chamber. Pump has a sediment flush valve at the bottom of the filter chamber for easier maintenance.

We had the 635 model which only lasted nearly 2 seasons. The internal impeller literally disintregrates, and INTEX’s response is, “We cannot replace/sell internal parts due to safety” which translates to, “Ya gotta buy a whole new pump”. I did my homework on this one and the “pump” portion of this model is designed ENTIRELY different of that of than the 635, in a FAR more superior way. So far, it’s been flawless, and the suction difference (from the 635) makes vacuuming the pool a breeze. The replacement filters a slightly more $$$ but very worth it.
I bought the 2500gph pump to replace my Intex 1500gph pump, which died after 3 summers of use (plastic impeller breaks in that model). Time will tell if this larger pump holds up but it’s a great improvement on filtering and water flow. The larger filters used by this model have been difficult to find in local stores though.
